We have listed the most frequently asked questions, of course including the answers. If you have a question that isn't listed below, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are happy to explain how it works.
Do's
• Schedule your waxing date 10-14 days after your last shaving session
• Wax regular to achieve an optimal result. Schedule your next appointment based on your hair growth 3 to 5 weeks after your last session.
• Use the right care product for optimum skincare. Wax & Beauty sells products that specifically tackle ingrown hairs and irritation. Seek advice during treatment.
• Take a paracetamol 30 minutes before your scheduled session if you are sensitive to pain.
• Troublesome ingrown hairs or areas? Unnecessary. Try Lycon's Anti Bump Foam for example. Seek advice during treatment.
Don’ts (the 1st 24 hours after waxing)
•Do not sunbathe or use a sunbed.
•Do not take a hot bath, hot shower or go to a sauna.
•Do not get into a swimming pool or the sea.
•Do not use scented soap, deodorant and tanning creams.
•Do not use any products that contain Alpha Hydroxy acids (such as for example, exfoliants).
Also handy to know
•Never shave your hair in between waxing sessions. This interrupts the hair removing cycle.
•Use a high factor sunscreen product if you go sunbathing again 24 hours after your session.
Waxing during your period?
Waxing during your period is not a problem. As long as you are wearing a tampon you are welcome to wax.
What is waxing?
Waxing treatment, or resin treatment as it can be known, is one of the most popular ways of temporarily removing hair. Our waxing procedure removes your hairs, roots and all. This means no stubble and ensures softer new hair. Moreover, there will be less and less hair growth. The wax is applied to your skin at low temperature. After which, we remove the wax with a strip or the wax itself is removed all in one rapid motion. The result is a smooth, soft skin without those unwanted hairs.
Why waxing?
Waxing's greatest benefit is: providing you with longer-lasting smooth skin, which leaves you carefree! Shaving or hair removal creams do not remove the roots. This causes your hair to grow back directly and stubble. This is not an issue for waxing: the unwanted hairs stay away longer and grow back softer. Moreover, the hair growth is less and less. Another benefit is that you also remove dead skin cells. This not only results is super smooth skin but also super soft skin.
Does waxing hurt?
We can't deny it, waxing can cause some discomfort. But the experience of our customers is that it is not too bad. As we wax daily and are well-trained, we are experienced, have the proper skills and fine waxing products. Meaning your session is in well-capable hands. The skin will be sooth again and feel soft and have its natural look after 24 hours.
What is the difference between a wax session or resin session?
The difference is in the product that is used to remove hair. Here at Wax & Beauty, we use a range of Lycon waxing products. We apply the appropriate amount of wax according to your skin or hair growth. The result is a smooth, soft skin without those unwanted hairs.
How hygienic is waxing?
We ensure the treatment table and spatulas are clean before every session. Your skin is cleansed and we always wear nitrile gloves to ensure hygiene is observed. Everything that comes into contact with the skin of our customers is immediately discarded. This means you can be certain that everything you come into contact with has been cleaned.
What position do I take during waxing?
Whatever area that needs to be waxed has to be uncovered. Our salon has been designed to offer optimal privacy.
What is a Brazilian wax?
A Brazilian wax is when the hair around the pubic area, seam of buttocks and anus is removed.
And what is a Brazilian Bathmen Style then?
We have noticed that women from our area like to look neat and well-cared for without it being too much hassle and too extreme. That's why we created our own take on the classic Brazilian Wax: The Brazilian “Bathmen Style”: The Brazilian Bathmen Style is when we remove the hairs from groin area, labia, anus and seam of the buttocks. We discuss with you about the amount of hair you would like on the pubic area. This gives you a tailored Brazilian.
How often can I have a waxing session?
Depending on the hair growth, you can make an appointment on average every 3-6 weeks.
